Are you a Registered/ Clinical Psychologist, AMH Social Worker, or Mental Health Occupational Therapist?
Are you as excited about eating disorder recovery as we are?
Then please read on, we'd love to meet you!
We’re a small and friendly, but growing private practice, looking for another registered or clinical psychologist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or Mental Health OT, with a strong interest in supporting those with eating disorders. You’re someone who truly believes recovery is possible for everyone, and is excited about supporting clients, families, and our community. You value social connection at work, and you’re excited to have dedicated space in your diary to prioritise collaboration with your team, external colleagues, and referrers.
Being a small, nimble private practice, there’s huge potential to develop your role in line with your interests. We're also very happy for you to work in your zones of genius, and if you have additional complementary interests alongside eating disorder treatment, we're happy to advertise these additional services to our extensive referrer database.
We welcome the knowledge and skill that you’ve built over your career or lived experience, and can’t wait to have your input into the services we offer!
Our Values
Liberation Clinic is a specialist eating disorder clinic in the Sutherland Shire. We are proudly non-diet/ HAES aligned, and value ‘compassionate and collaborative’ client care. Our culture strongly reflects this, with regular dedicated time each week to share insights about the clients you’ll be sharing with our passionate non-diet team, consisting of three dietitians and one psychologist.
Our vision at Liberation Clinic is to work towards bridging the huge gaps that exist between levels of care, developing and offering targeted additional outpatient services to shorten the treatment path, and promote more resilient recovery for our clients. Our 12 month plan involves continuing to build our psychology team, and looking forward we will be bringing on Medical team members, along with additional supports like trauma informed yoga, to provide a holistic service where all providers are on the same page.
The Role and Benefits
Much of your day will be spent providing your expert clinical services to clients and families. We believe in pro-active burnout prevention, and our full-time caseload equates to 24 billable hours per week (with an appropriate development period for Provisionals), inclusive of billable case conferences. We are protective of our clinical team’s calendars, with fixed case discussion meetings and permanent admin breaks every day after lunch, to increase opportunities to chat with your team (whether this is across the hall, or via videochat), and give your brain time to refresh!
When you join us, you’ll be welcomed into our team of passionate clinicians, and encouraged and supported to grow with the practice. Our Registered Psychologist is a Board Accredited Supervisor, and is able to offer in-house support, supervision and mentoring. Of course, this is in addition to the day to day support from being surrounded by other clinicians with extensive training and many years of supervised experience in eating disorder work. We continue to learn so much from each other, and strongly value new perspectives and ideas. We offer:
- Freedom to exercise your own sound clinical judgement that private practice offers
- Security of employment if this is your preference, with paid admin time. We don’t want you to take work home with you!
- A supportive, friendly multi-disciplinary team, to grow with and debrief with
- Variety in your role, with the option of running groups, meal support, or service development, for example
- A focus on your professional development, and personalised CPD plan
- Pro-active administration support, who are happy to take tasks off your hands!
- Beautiful, private rooms, 2mins walk from Miranda Westfield, and directly across from Miranda train station.
- Flexibility to choose the work option that suits you best, whether in the clinic every working day, or a hybrid model.
Role Diversity- Bring your unique skills!
Do you also have specific skills or a love of treating conditions other than eating disorders? If you also love seeing clients for support with complementary issues, like trauma, OCD, family therapy, paediatrics, or neurodivergence and assessments, we'd love to support you to do the work you love!
In eating disorder work, it's rare that the ED is someone's only mental health concern, so we very much value team members who can provide support with the spectrum of conditions affecting our clients. We'll be very happy to promote your unique combination of skills, and help you add diversity to an already-diverse role.
Package and Benefits
We offer above-award pay based on degree of relevant experience, career progression options, plus employment benefits including:
- Generous supervision and CPD allowances in addition to your salary,
- 2 days’ paid study leave (FTE)
- Internal peer supervision and case discussion
If preferring to work under a contracting model, our contracting arrangements and processes are simple, clear and concise, and up to date with 2024 changes to contract laws.
Availability
Hours are negotiable, and there is plenty of flexibility to work around other work or family commitments, etc. As we mentioned above, because our top priority is finding clinicians who share our values, we’re happy for you to work in the way that suits you best, whether at the clinic every day, a hybrid of clinic and WFH.
While we have hired remote staff previously and strongly believe in the effectiveness of telehealth, we are currently looking for someone who can work in-house at the Miranda clinic for at least part of their work hours, due to overwhelming client demand for face to face options.
