Jobs at the Liberation Clinic

Eating Disorder Dietitian & Psychologist Jobs

We're always hiring. If you think you're a great fit for our team, please get in contact!

We’re a small (but growing!), friendly team of eating disorder specialist psychologists and dietitians, looking for a receptionist with medical or allied health experience to support our clients and families.

We’d love to find someone with initiative, who can take care of our reception tasks, and be the friendly, welcoming face to greet and support both staff and our clients. To be a great fit with our team, you’re empathetic and helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to support our clients and families experiencing a difficult time. Because you’re experienced in a similar role, you’ll feel comfortable working autonomously around our team of part-timers, and supporting staff when they’re working remotely.

Specific tasks will include:

  • Taking phone calls and responding to enquiries via phone and email
  • Diary and waitlist management
  • Billing, processing private health and Medicare rebates, and assisting clients with claiming issues
  • Data entry in our PMS ‘Powerdiary’, and using MS Excel/ google sheets
  • Correspondence with referrers, and marketing tasks
  • Ensuring suitability of new clients, and orienting them to our services
  • Basic office tidying and stocking stationary/ kitchen items

We use the practice management software Powerdiary, and experience with this is an advantage, but we’re very happy to train the right person.

We value inclusivity, and encourage people of all genders, body sizes, physical abilities, or other marginalised identities to apply.

Hours needed: Mon 1130-5, Wed 10-2, Th 1130-5, Fri 10-2

Hourly rate range: $26-29 plus super, depending on skills and experience.

Closing: This position will remain open until filled by the right candidate.

How to apply

Please email your CV plus a short application letter explaining how your skills and experience meet our needs, and what interests you about the role, attention to director Emma, via enquiries@ our url.

Thanks very much for your interest!

Liberation Clinic is a HAES aligned practice, providing eating disorder treatment in the Sutherland Shire, upholding the values of ‘compassionate and collaborative’ patient care. Our team currently consists of passionate non-diet dietitians. Due to growth and demand for services, we’re looking to employ a registered or clinical psychologist, or mental health social worker who is skilled and experienced in this niche area, but more importantly, LOVES the work. As you will be the first mental health professional at the practice, the position is most suitable for someone with sufficient training and experience to work independently. This position is perfect for someone who wants the freedom to exercise your own sound clinical judgement that private practice offers, with the security of employment, and a supportive multi-disciplinary team, but doesn’t want the admin burden of running the practice yourself!

Availability

You’ll be available 1-3 days/wk, and ideally able to start by early 2022, however this position will remain open until filled by the right candidate, and start date is negotiable. Hours are negotiable, and there is plenty of flexibility to work around other employment or family commitments, etc. Designating a portion of hours as remote work is negotiable for as long as telehealth item numbers remain in effect.

Requirements

  • Sufficient training and experience to be able to practice safely and confidently with all main eating disorder presentations without direct supervision. This position is unfortunately not suitable for provisional psychologists/ new grads, and only applicants with specific and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how to integrate HAES concepts with eating disorder treatment, provide a weight-inclusive service, and respectfully advocate for patients with their other treatment providers via phone/ written reports.
  • Training and experience in one or more evidence based eating disorder treatment modality, eg FbT, CBT-E, DBT, SSCM, etc
  • Able to work with patients of all ages, and their families/ carers where relevant.
  • Able to assist patients with improving their body image.
  • Experience with facilitating group treatments in an ED setting will be viewed favourably, but is not essential.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development in HAES and eating disorders. (Please list relevant & recent training completed).
  • Must be a current member of APS/ AHPRA, eligible for Medicare provider status and registration with health funds, with own public liability and professional indemnity insurances.
  • Must have own laptop, mobile phone, and mobile internet access to use while working from home.
  • Current working with children check, police check/ willing to obtain prior to interview.

What We Offer

You’ll be welcomed into our team of passionate clinicians, and encouraged and supported to grow with the practice. We offer established admin systems and support, a strong local referral base, and regular case consultation, supervision and CPD.

Joining our team as the first mental health professional, you’ll have huge potential to develop your own role, influence the services we deliver to patients and carers, and be involved with developing and supporting future mental health staff if this interests you.

Pay is based on degree of relevant experience, plus an additional allowance for supervision and professional development.
